Chairman’s Message

FY 2023-24

Dear Stakeholders,

IDMC has continued to maintain its position as a prominent integrated solutions provider for the dairy and allied sectors in our country. Since its inception, leveraging our core values, we have offered tailored indigenous and cost-effective engineering and packaging solutions that have efficiently addressed the evolving needs of our clientele. IDMC has also remained committed to improvement and excellence with renewed enthusiasm towards sustainable growth.

India is the largest and fastest growing dairy market in the world. Milk production in India already reached 231 million metric tons in 2022-23 with an impressive growth rate of about 5% which is more than double of the World’s average growth. Similarly, the Per Capita Availability (PCA) of milk has also reached 459 grams per day in 2022- 23, which is much more than the world average of about 310 grams per day. Today our dairy market is worth Rs. 15 lakh crore which is likely to more than double to Rs. 34 lakh crore by 2028 capitalizing on India’s growing emergence as a global dairy hub. This growth is attributed to technological innovation, advanced retail and enhanced cold chain infrastructure, efficiently meeting rising consumer demand for value-added dairy products such as paneer, butter, cheese and yogurt, among others and IDMC is playing an important role in it.

IDMC excels in project delivery capabilities and in manufacturing superior dairy equipment to modernize milk processing and cooling infrastructure. We adopt cutting edge technologies and upskill team capabilities across our business to enhance overall performance and operational efficiencies. This has resulted in robust performance and achievement on key milestones in FY 2023-24.

Recognising this excellence, we have secured high-standard hygiene 3A certification for the CLA series Centrifugal Pump, Mixproof Valve and Pneumatic Single Seat Valve, also a Patent for an ICE thickness measuring device. Our improved product pumps and valves have garnered a positive market response, driving increased customer interest and potential sales growth.

During FY 2023-24, IDMC introduced new products such as aseptic tank, digital thawing unit and smart weighing scale, mini milker and various other farm accessories under the farm equipment segment. It has also developed higher capacity and head centrifugal pumps and an in-house condensing unit tailored for Bulk Milk Coolers (BMC) with a capacity of upto 2 KL. This initiative is definitely going to help streamline costs and reduce reliance on the external suppliers.

IDMC also successfully designed, tested, installed and commissioned a multi-product, large scale automated dairy plant for a dairy cooperative in North India in a record time of less than 12 months which was inaugurated by the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India. Over 80% of the equipment utilized in this project are made in India. With immense pride, I can affirm that IDMC is tirelessly working towards realizing the vision of ‘Make in India’ and ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’. IDMC also commissioned an indigenously developed 500 Kgs/hr mechanized paneer plant and Fruit Yogurt manufacturing plant apart from commissioning of 1 TPH mozzarella cheese plant.

Our Company has designed and commissioned a state-of-the-art automated sweet plant with a capacity of 10 tons per day, marking a pioneering achievement for production of traditional sweets. Furthermore, we have supplied a 300 KL color water tank, distinguishing it as one of the large vessels manufactured by IDMC. In addition, we have successfully designed, manufactured, and supplied a 20 KL capacity Aseptic tank. Notably, our 15 KLPH UHT Sterilizer dispatched to one of our customers stands as a pioneering achievement. We also conducted the Pneumatic test of large capacity 100 KL and 200 KL fermentors, which is the first of its kind.

We are pleased that for the first time the total revenues of IDMC surpassed the milestone Rs. 1000 crore mark in FY 2023-24, which is Rs. 1031.79 crore, an increase of 36% from Rs. 754.21 crore achieved in FY 2022-23. Additionally, we have strengthened our order portfolio with new orders, including two new orders for 80 TPD dung based CBG (Compressed Biogas) plants and aiming to secure a few more orders in this segment. IDMC has also received an order for an aseptic bulk culture preparation system, along with a fermenter and an aseptic bag-filling machine. Additionally, we have also secured an order for a 25 KL Aseptic tank and large capacity deaerator process module.

In pursuit of greater exposure, IDMC participated in the Anuga FoodTec 2024 exhibition held at Germany, a premier international exhibition in the food and beverage sector. This initiative provided an excellent opportunity to connect with potential partners from various countries. With India on the cusp of becoming ‘Dairy to the World’, IDMC has also increased its footprint abroad and is continuously exploring new avenues towards exports from India.

It is also worth mentioning that the Government of India through its schemes and programmes like Rashtriya Gokul Mission, Animal Husbandry Infrastructure Development Fund (AHIDF), National Programme for Dairy Development, National Animal Disease Control Programme, National Livestock Mission etc. has continued to provide necessary impetus to the dairy sector.

Today, IDMC is at the forefront of new vistas, harnessing momentum with optimism. In the coming years, the Company is set to meet the growing demand for our products and services, in India and abroad, ensuring sustainable growth and adding value for all stakeholders. I am confident that the united efforts have marked a significant milestone and will drive us towards a future brimming with greater possibilities and success.

Meenesh Shah
