Biogas Solutions
At IDMC, we offer comprehensive EPC solutions for cow dung-based Biogas plants.
A 100 MT capacity cow dung biogas plant generates around 4000 cubic meters of biogas, which is utilized in two significant ways:
- Steam Generation: About 2300 cubic meters of biogas is used to generate approximately 19 tons of steam per day, fueling the existing boiler at the dairy plant.
- Power Generation: The remaining 1700 cubic meters of biogas powers a generator, producing about 2000 units of electricity daily.
The digested slurry from the biogas production is separated into solid cake and liquid filtrate. The solid cake, amounting to approx. 18 tons per day, is used to manufacture organic fertilizer (PROM). The liquid filtrate is partly used for mixing dung, and the remainder is sold as organic liquid fertilizer.
The project offers significant savings.
This initiative aligns with several national missions and commitments:
- Swachh Bharat Mission: It aids in rural cleanliness by providing a convenient way for farmers to dispose of dung.
- Doubling of Farmer Income: Farmers can earn additional income from the sale of dung, including from non-milking animals.
- India’s Commitment towards Environmental Protection: The project replaces conventional energy sources such as diesel, wood, and electric power produced from coal.
- Make in India Initiative: The project promotes energy security and the use of organic fertilizer, contributing to domestic manufacturing.
The project also explores the benefits of carbon credits, further enhancing its advantages. It stands as a model of sustainable development, promoting renewable energy usage, offering economic incentives for farmers, and contributing to environmental conservation efforts. This initiative is a significant step towards a greener and more sustainable future.
