Chairman’s Message
Dear Stakeholders,
The financial year 2024-25 was another important year for IDMC, as we continued our evolution into a comprehensive solution provider for India’s dairy and allied sectors. Guided by our theme “Expanding Frontiers”, we have aligned our strategic priorities with the Government of India’s vision of Atmanirbhar Bharat, the Make in India mission, and the forward-looking agenda to modernise and empower India’s cooperative dairy sector.
We welcome the Government’s renewed focus on cooperative-led growth, which has provided strong momentum for the dairy industry’s transformation. The launch of White Revolution 2.0 by the Ministry of Cooperation and Department of Animal Husbandry & Dairying (DAHD) in 2024 marked a pivotal step in modernising milk collection, processing, and distribution driving greater efficiency, sustainability, and global competitiveness. Complementing this, initiatives such as the National Programme for Dairy Development (NPDD) of DAHD, aimed at establishing new dairy cooperatives is well aligned with our own vision of rural empowerment and value-chain strengthening.

This policy-driven transformation is unfolding against the backdrop of India’s continuing leadership in global dairy production. India maintained its position as the world’s largest milk producer, reaching 239.3 million tonnes in 2023-24, more than 25% of global milk production. The dairy sector in India grew at a healthy rate of 5.6% per year, which is much higher than the global average of about 2%. The Indian dairy market, valued at ₹ 18,97,500 crore in 2024, is expected to grow to ₹ 57,00,180 crore by 2033, supported by better technology, cold chain development, and changing customer preferences for the dairy products.
Amidst these dynamic shifts IDMC has stayed ahead of the curve through continuous innovation and indigenous engineering. In 2024-25, we introduced a 25 KL aseptic storage tank, a multiproduct UHT sterilizer with a capacity of 4.4 KLPH, a 50 KLPH online auto fat standardisation unit, a higher-capacity linear cup filling machine, and a new series of centrifugal pumps. The CE certification of key products has further enhanced IDMC’s competitiveness in the international market.
In the farm equipment segment, IDMC indigenously designed, supplied and installed basic 30º Herringbone suspended frame type milking parlours and Total Mix Ration (TMR) mixers. Additionally, the Company introduced a 300-litre solar-powered mobile milk collection and cooling system, jointly developed with NDDB and Suzuki R&D Centre India Pvt. Ltd. (SRDI). The concept was initiated by NDDB in consultation with Suzuki Motors (SRDI) under the rural mobility initiative, and IDMC successfully executed its development.
I am pleased to inform you that IDMC has successfully developed and commissioned an automated bulk culture preparation system, several fermented product plants, and five continuous butter manufacturing plants of capacity 1.5 TPH. Also, commissioned a 20 MT per day milk powder plant and 1 LLPD ice-cream plant.
Furthermore, IDMC executed ammonia refrigeration plants up to 1,600 TR capacity and commissioned several energy efficient ice silos. Two 100 MTPD dung-based CBG (Compressed Biogas) plants are under execution, contributing to sustainable energy solutions. IDMC fabricated and exported four 200 KL fermenters in the Middle East for penicillin production.
IDMC’s financial performance during the year reflected the Company’s commitment to excellence. The Company achieved a turnover of ₹ 882 crore, driven by strong domestic demand and growing exports. The Company also strengthened its global footprint with an export order for a 10 LLPD automated dairy plant in the United Kingdom, along with major domestic orders including a 25 TLPD UHT processing plant and a 20 LLPD liquid milk processing facility with integrated butter manufacturing. Additionally, the Company has received a large domestic order for setting up an animal vaccine manufacturing facility.
To meet the growing demand, the Company has set up a new modern fabrication shop at one of its manufacturing facilities which was inaugurated by Shri Rajiv Ranjan Singh, Hon’ble Union Minister of Fisheries, Animal Husbandry and Dairying during August 2024. The fabrication shop is equipped with high capacity cranes and stands 26 metres tall, making a strategic step in enhancing capabilities for fabrication of higher capacity tankage & vessels to cater to the requirements in the dairy & pharmaceutical sector.
A landmark step in self-reliance was setting-up of a Ready-to-Use culture manufacturing facility, with technological support from NDDB, which is likely to be commissioned soon. This facility not only substitutes imports but also exemplifies our alignment with the Vocal for Local campaign. This move is a strategic step in expanding the frontier of Indian self-reliance in dairy cultures. The entire facility has been designed on a green building concept, and a Gold Rating is expected from the Indian Green Building Council (IGBC).
In the packaging segment, IDMC has supplied 15,796 MT of polyfilm to various customers. As a part of expansion in the packaging segment, IDMC is setting up a new 7,500 MT poly film plant along with Poly Propylene Thermoformed cup production facility at Narela, Delhi, which will serve customers located in Northern India. The plant is expected to commence production in 2026.
Sustainability continued to remain central to our operations. The Company installed a total of 1,190 kW of solar PV systems at its various facilities, and installation of a further 300 kW solar PV system is planned, reinforcing our continued commitment to using clean energy.
As part of our Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts, we supported NDDB Foundation for Nutrition’s Gift Milk programme by providing milk to underprivileged children in several schools in Anand district. We also contributed advanced testing equipment, including a Gas Chromatograph to Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams temple enhancing its ability to detect adulteration in ghee and other dairy products.
With strong orders and proven execution capabilities and an unwavering focus on indigenous innovation and sustainability, IDMC is ready to capitalise on emerging opportunities while continuing to deliver value to all stakeholders. Our journey of Expanding Frontiers continues not only in scale and scope but in making a meaningful impact across the dairy, biogas, thermal, and pharmaceutical value chains.
Best Wishes,
