To lead and monitor all production activities in the assigned unit to drive achievement of the production plan in compliance with all applicable quality, cost and safety parameters
• Assist Head – Manufacturing in formulation of a robust production strategy to lower output cost and provide IDMC a competitive advantage on technical and quality parameters
• Participate in the budgeting exercise for the Manufacturing department and provide inputs for the preparation of annual production budget for the assigned unit and monitor adherence to the production budget for the unit
• Review the key performance metrics / MIS of the section on a periodic basis and intervene as and when necessary
• Identify and implement action steps to reduce losses and wastages and ensure minimum rejection of components
• Responsible for leading and monitoring all production activities in the assigned unit as per the production plan in compliance with all applicable quality and safety norms
• Responsible for preparation of the weekly/monthly production schedule in consultation with Unit Head and allocation of work to different sections as per the schedule; monitor progress against the same
• Ensure stage wise and end of line inspection and take corrective action in case of any deviations from specified quality standards
• Monitor status of consumables, spares and other inventories and coordinate with the Inventory, Stores and Logistics department to ensure availability as per the production plan
• Oversee adherence to maintenance schedule as per the specified SOP within assigned unit and intervene in case of any deviations
• Interact with the marketing department/product design team to understand customer requirements and specifications
• Responsible for optimal resource utilization and streamlining of activities within the unit
• Analyze daily and monthly production MIS reports to measure progress against target output, present findings to Head / Unit Head – Manufacturing and provide own suggestions to improve production efficiency
• Ensure timely goal setting, monitoring, review of performance parameters and feedback to team members
• Oversee training and capability building of employees of the department
• Develop the capabilities to take on higher responsibilities while performing the given / in-charge responsibilities at various levels within the functions
